Cats, the world’s first pest control

PBIC has been saying from the very beginning that cats are the best resource for fighting the rodent population, especially on barrier islands that have a shipping port inlet.  It was confirmed by a recent report on CNN.com telling how Chicago, reportedly the nation’s “rattiest city”, is embracing the idea of bringing cats in to fight the public health issue.

Catwalk on the Avenue 2016 fundraiser debuts

Worth Avenue was pawsitively transformed Monday as volunteers placed larger-than-life cat sculptures painted by local artists and celebrities in front of businesses for Catwalk on the Avenue 2016, a fundraiser for the nonprofit Palm Beach Island Cats.

For a bunch of nocturnal hairy wanderers, the island’s feral cats have quite the circle of friends.

Nearly 150 of them — people, not cats — turned out for the annual dinner dance to benefit Palm Beach Island Cats, the town’s feral cat care organization.
